The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) is the metropolitan planning organization (MPO) for the Dallas-Fort Worth region. The Transportation Department has more than 200 employees and serves 12 counties (Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Hood, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Rockwall, Tarrant and Wise) in North Central Texas. Staff work on many transportation and air quality initiatives, including long-term transportation planning, transit management, freight, walking and biking, aviation, congestion management, safety, emissions reduction, autonomous/automated vehicles, broadband access and alternative fuel infrastructure.
